This
laughing wonder is about how the students at Maudlin Street School misbehave at
their best when the Ministry of Education inspector visits their school, so
that their headmaster stays back in the school.

William
Wakefield (Ted Ray) is the headmaster at Maudlin Street School & has
applied for a job change. Meanwhile, there is a school inspection by the
Ministry of Education done by Miss Wheeler (Rosalind Knight) & a child
psychiatrist Alistair Grigg (Leslie Phillips). Wakefield seeks the help of his
staff – English teacher Edwin Milton (Kenneth Williams), Science teacher
Gregory Adams (Kenneth Connor), Gym mistress Sarah Allcock (Joan Sims), Music
teacher Michael Bean (Charles Hawtrey) & Maths

After
a lot of interrogation, the actual reason for their weird behavior is known.
Miss Wheeler then announces that she will tell the Education Ministry about the
strong pupil-staff relationship.
