  This laughter terror is about how a Captain tries to adjust himself with the last moment changes on his ship – Happy Wanderer.

Captain Crowther (Sid James) learns that there are five new crew members (officers) on the top five positions, just before the voyage begins. He finds out that the new crew is highly incompetent. To add on to his problems, the passengers are also a bunch of strange-behaving people. Captain Crowther hopes that his next voyage would be a captain on the transatlantic ship & that he would take some of his crew members along with him.

The Happy Wanderer begins its voyage from England & passes through various ports – Spain, Italy & North Africa. Among the passengers on board are two single ladies –
Flo & Gladys

Gladys (Liz Fraser) & Flo (Dilys Laye). They are traveling with a hope that Flo might find a husband on the ship. So she tries to find her partner in the PT instructor – Jenkins (Vincent Ball) as well as Captain Crowther. However, Dr. Binn (Kenneth Connor) – one of the new crew officers, falls for her; she neglects him. There is a

passenger (Ronnie Stevens) whose only interest on the ship is the bar. Bridget (Esma Cannon) is at her best. The other new recruit is the head chef – Wilfred Haynes (Lance Percival) finds out that he is sea-sick & takes his treatment from Dr. Binn.
First Officer Marjoribanks (Kenneth Williams), who is also a new crew member, is over-confident as always. He helps Gladys in being cupid to Dr. Binn & Flo. The new crew makes the captain happy with the dedication in their work. The five of them decide to hold a party for Captain Crowther along with the passengers.

Haynes bakes him a cake; while the new bar-tender cables the former one & offers the Captain his favorite drink – Aberdeen Angus.
The party is on in full swing when Captain Crowther gets a telegram mentioning an offer that he would be sailing as a captain in the new transatlantic ship. He turns down the offer & wishes to be with his own crew.

It is an absolute delight to watch this crude slapstick comedy movie. With a flu epidemic prevailing, a British suburban police station is running short of staff. Under the pressure to maintain the staff level, Sergeant Wilkins (Sid James) is happy to hear that there are three new recruits joining directly from the training school.

Constable. Before even reporting at the police station, the trio unknowingly help some bank robbers to get away in their car (a Jaguar). They get embarrassed on learning the truth. Enter WPC Gloria Passworthy (Joan Sims), PC Constable falls for her. Special Constable Gorse (Charles Hawtrey) completes the wreck.
The trio along with SC Gorse manage to totally bust up the operations of the police force & let criminals get away.

They have to prove their worth otherwise they will lose their job & Sergeant Wilkins will be transferred. Finally luck favors them when a wages robbery takes place. Potter & Benson

locate the Jaguar car & the four of them get ready to confront the thieves. They arrest them & recover the stolen money.
Sergeant Wilkins gets promoted to his efficiency &excellent results by his constables. Constable finally gets his girl – Passworthy & also gets rid of his superstitions.

  The movie is about an attempt by a bungling slave, Hengist (Kenneth Connor) to rescue his master, the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar (Kenneth Williams) against assassination.

The Romans invade Britain with an army led by Mark Antony (Sid James). The army attacks a Briton village where its residents still live in caves & wear animal skins. The slaves are bought by a trader Spencius & auctioned. No one bids for Hengist; he’s listed in for lion-fodder. When an attempt is made to

kill Caesar, Horsa fiercely fights & kills his enemies. In a confusion, Hengist gets all the credit instead of Horsa; & is made Caesar’s bodyguard.

Meanwhile, Caesar’s best friend – Mark Antony is sent to Egypt for an alliance. Antony is overwhelmed after seeing Cleopatra aka Cleo (Amanda Barrie), the Egyptian Queen. He falls for her. The only way for Antony to achieve her is by killing Caesar & Hengist. 
However, Antony’s plan to kill Caesar in Egypt goes in vain. Caesar, Horsa, Hengist & the other British countrymen escape to Britain.
