Batman & Robin

  This science-fiction was the first ever Batman movie, adapted from the DC Comics Batman. Prior to the movie, a television serial was aired in 1940s. The story of the movie revolves around Batman & Robin’s rescue operation.

dehydrator, which has the capability of turning humans to dust, & abduct Commodore (he stays unaware that he has been kidnapped).  The villains kidnap & dehydrate the Security Council, including Bruce Wayne (alter-ego of Batman), in a submarine.

The duo (Batman & Robin) fail to prevent the same. They chase Miss Kitka (Catwoman disguised as a journalist). Robin uses a sonic charge weapon to disable & force the submarine to the surface. Commodore  Schmidlapp mixes all the dust (dehydrated Security Council members) together. Batman constructs a filter to separate the dust.

The Security Council is rehydrated; but they spoke a language & displayed stereotypical manners of a nation other than theirs. The duo climb out of the window & the closing title on the card reads – “The Living End..?”

To the public, he is a super rich playboy. Gotham city police stays corrupted inspite of continuous efforts from District Attorney Harvey Dent (Billy Dee Williams)

Joker kidnaps Vicki

& Police Commissioner James Gordon (Pat Hingle). Reporter Knox (Robert Wuhl) & photo-journalist Vicki (Kim Basinger) investigate on the bat-like figure that is fighting against criminals. When Knox & Vicki attend a benefit at Wayne Manor (Bruce’s residence), Bruce falls for Vicki.

Carl Grissom (Jack Palance), a crime boss, controls the Gotham city. He sends his henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) to the cosmetics factory for a raid. It is actually a set-up by Grissom to get Napier arrested. Meanwhile Batman arrives & in a fight between Napier & batman, Napier falls into a vat of toxic chemicals. Inspite of plastic surgery, Napier gets disfigured. Napier sets out in revenge, guising as The Joker.

Batman saves Vicki

He kills Grissom first & then attacks the city. He adulterates the daily hygiene products. The city is panicked. Vicki falls prey to Joker’s obsession. Batman tries to track The Joker & in an encounter with him, Batman realizes that it is the same criminal who killed his parents. Bruce’s butler Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Gough) helps Vicki get into the BatCave. Vicki confesses her love for Bruce. Bruce promises her to be in a relationship once he is back after defeating the Joker.

The Joker falls to death

Batman fails Joker’s plan of killing the people of Gotham city with poisonous gas. Joker re-kidnaps Vicki & takes her to the top of the church. The Joker tries to escape after a fight with Batman, but Batman catches hold of him with his hook. The Joker falls to his death when the hold gets loosened.

Batman promises to save Gotham whenever crime strikes.

Gotham city has to now face to horrendous criminals – The Penguin & The Catwoman. Shreck, Catwoman, Penguin & his gang create chaos in Gotham city to spoil the Mayor’s (Michael Murphy) image. Batman tries to save the city from this conspiracy. They kidnap The Ice Princess (Cristi Conaway) , makes her stand on the ledge

of a high building & unleash a gang of bats on her. As a result she loses her balance & falls to death, seeming that the killing is done by Batman. Catwoman refuses to partner Penguin further; so he tries to kill her as well. Catwoman survives again.

Penguin keep son plotting schemes of crime in the city & Batman fails his plan. Penguin decides to launch missiles; but Batman jams the frequency & launches the missiles at the Penguin base itself. In a fight between Batman & Penguin, Penguin falls into toxic waters. Batman explains Catwoman to unmask herself & hand over Shreck to the police. Meanwhile Shreck tries to attack Catwoman. Catwoman electrocutes him & sacrifices her own life in the bargain.

Bruce, along with butler Alfred Pennyworth, is driven around the city with grandeur. Bruce sees Selina’s shadow on some wall. On investigation, Bruce sees Selina’s cat & takes the cat along with him.

Riddler & Two-Face

Meanwhile, Two-Face & Riddler join hands & use the rejected invention to steal the intelligent quotient by controlling their minds. At a party, Riddler learns that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Two-Face

attacks the party & almost kills Batman; but Batman survives with Robin’s help. The duo (Two-Face & Riddler) enter into Wayne Manor & destroy most of the equipments in the BatCave. The duo then abduct Dr. Chase.

Batman & Robin manage to find Riddler’s lair at Claw Island. They get separated & Robin encounters Two-Face. After a fight,
Two-Face has an upper-hand & Robin also becomes a hostage. Batman manages to save both, Dr. Chase & Robin, & destroy the device that collected brain waves. Riddler faces a mental trauma & Two-Face dies in a battle with Batman.

Riddler is sent to a mental asylum with Dr. Chase treating him. Batman & Robin continue protecting Gotham city from violence & crime.

Meanwhile, Barbara (Alicia Silverstone) who is Alfred Pennyworth’s niece comes to stay at Wayne Manor. Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s butler, is revealed of suffering from MacGregor’s Syndrome. Bruce turns down the project offer from Poison Ivy at Wayne Enterprises press conference of turning Gotham city into lush green rainforest. Subsequently at a charity at Wayne Enterprises, with Batman & Robin as chief guests, Ivy Poison seduces all men with the pheromone powder. Mr. Freeze crashes in & steals the diamond but gets captured by Bat-man & detained at Arkham Asylum. Ivy & Bane (Robert Swenson) free him. Bane is a diminutive convict of an experiment conducted by Ivy’s senior.

Ivy stops Nora’s life support & blames Batman for the same. Robin becomes smitten with Ivy and begins to rebel against Bat man at Mr. Freeze's hideout. Robin gets imprisoned by Ivy. Meanwhile, Barbara (calling herself Batgirl) arrives & defeats Ivy. Batman, Robin & Batgirl go after Mr. Freeze. When the trio arrive at an observatory where Mr. Freeze & Bane are, they realize that entire Gotham is frozen. Robin & Batgirl deal with Bane while Batman obviously wins over Mr. Freeze.

Batman informs Mr. Freeze that his wife is alive & is moved to Arkham Asylum. Also that Mr. Freeze can continue his research work at Arkham. Batman tells Mr. Freeze that Ivy tried killing Nora.
